DAY 3:
Como íbamos alternando campo y ciudad, el día de hoy tocó la costa vasca y pueblitos de nuevo. Con la senda verde en Arrazola se nos fue la mañana, fue un camino de 1:30h más o menos y muy fácil. Para comer fuimos a Getaria, en la costa, pero los precios se salían así que acabamos en Zarautz. Para terminar, visitamos Hondarribia, que es el pueblo que más me ha gustado de estas vacaciones y es el último pueblo del norte antes de la frontera con Francia. Nos dirigimos al camping en el monte Igueldo, cerca de San Sebastián, para pasar la penúltima noche en un bungalow. Era una casa súper pequeña pero estuvo guay dormir allí y ver a el resto de la gente acampada con sus tiendas o caravanas!
Today it was time for rural space again, so we walked through the 'green way' in Arrazola. We did 1:30h more or less and it was pretty easy and enjoyable! Then we headed to Getaria (by the coast) in order to have lunch there but everything was so expensive that we ended up in Zarautz. Finally, we visited Hondarribia, my most-liked village of the trip. It is the last village in the North before the border with France as well. It was so nice and typical. We drove to Mount Igueldo, close to San Sebastián, and we spent the night there in a bungalow! So cool!
DAY 4:
El día 4 estaba dedicado a San Sebastián. Nos levantamos pronto, desayunamos en el pequeño bungalow y conducimos monte abajo para aparcar en el siguiente alojamiento. Caminamos por todo el paseo marítimo hasta llegar a La Concha, la playa más popular de la ciudad, y después dimos vueltas por las callecitas del casco histórico. Decidimos comer tapas porque era tanto lo más asequible como lo más típico; y acertamos, ¡estaban buenísimas! Después de la comida, me tomé un helado en la heladería Boulevard y lo recomiendo totalmente! Visitamos la catedral, y para terminar el día fuimos un rato a la playa a darnos un baño. ¡Fue un día genial!
Day four was all about San Sebastián. We woke up early, had breakfast in our little bungalow, drove down Mount Eguildo and parked in our next acommodation. We walked all along the beach from Mount Eguildo till La Concha (the most popular beach in the city) and then along the boulevard and the cute streets in the oldest part of the town. We decided to eat tapas as it was the most affordable option and also so typical there!! They were so tasty. After lunch, I had an ice cream from Boulevard ice cream shop and it was delicious, absolutely recommended. Then we visited the cathedral and headed to the beach where we went for a swim. It was such a good day!!!
DAY 5:
El último día fue todo improvisado: por la mañana encontramos unos acantilados cercanos por internet, y allí nos dirigimos. Una vez allí, caminamos 20 minutos más o menos hasta un mirador y después hasta una playa negra de roca, de unas formaciones especiales de la zona. Por la tarde solo nos quedaban unas horas, y las aprovechamos en la playa de Zumaia tomando el solete.
Fue un viaje genial y, antetodo, sorprendente: nunca había ido a esa zona del norte y me ha encantado! El paisaje es muy verde, las ciudades bonitas y la comida riquísima... ¿que más se puede pedir?
The last day was planned on the way: in the morning we found on the internet some cliffs close to our location, so there we went. Once we were there, we walked for about 20 minutes until we came across a viewpoint, and then we kept walking a little more to find a black rock beach with special geological formations of the zone. On the afternoon we only had a few hours left, so we relaxed on the beach of Zumaia!
This trip was great fun, and above all, it was surprising: I'd never been to that area in the North and I loved it! The countryside is very green, the cities are pretty and the food was delicious! What else could we ask for?
